ectopic beats,any info?

so this is not about myself,its my dad.he hasnt been feeling too great and has been aware of alot of flutters in his heart.the doc picked up ectopic beats so now he has to wear the holter monitor and get a blood test.my dad is 61,im a bit worried as both his dad and grandad died of heart attacks in their early 60 s.could this be the start of heart problems?

I have had ectopic beats for 7 years im 36 with four kids and have loads of tests. They can tell normally from a stress test it they are artrical or ventricle that beening not as good as atrical. Mine are atrical and there can be many things in life mine started when i started taking throxine tabs and believe that they are sometimes the cause. I can get up to 10 in a mins pulse and sometimes they settle and hardly any at other times. Dont know ir anyone out there get them when they bend over i get them a lot when bending putting my little ones shoes on or making the kids beds they are not nice but ive been here so many times lets hopr things get better sam

ectopic beats are just a small irregularity of the heart rhythm as in skipped beats or extra beats
a holter monitor is standard to confirm these as a normal ekg might not pick up any
these are mostly benign
sometimes they can be linked to electrolyte differences in the blood or body and if so these are easily corrected
kinda the same rules with pvc as in low caffine -and all that stuff certain meds can cause them also
they are quite common and at lease he has the monitor now which will show the frequency and if he needs treatment it can be prescribed thats if he needs it
try not to worry
