Yes,donna is rite,if something that could place u in a life threatening situation the doctor probably would have sent you for a day or 2 for further investigation at the ward.i myself experienced these palpitations a lot, probably caused by my anxiety or panic attack, been to the accident and emergency a lot..lost counts, did numerous ecgs and blood test they were all fine and i was clear to go home despite my bad palpitations and chest pain..however they did schedule me for a appointment at with a cardiologist which then i did 2 stress test, echo and an ECG at the cardiology department. All were fine but i still have this palpitations, doctor says dun worry too much which i find it hard to accept but he scheduled me for a 24hour holter monitor next month and he also mentioned if u feel a very bad palpitaton or other symptoms its best just incase ..just go to the AE,where they will do an ECG straight away.so dont worry too much, urs is just palpations and its very common.
Hey I take it u r from the uk too?
Your doctor would of read your ECG and if it looked really bad then he would of either called an ambulance or rung for you to go up right away for more tests. Because he probably seen these type of ECG with other paitance many times then he knew there is norhing to worry about.
Palpitations are very common. And they are made worse when we are aware of them. Like yourself.
They are very common everone suffers with them Weather they are aware of then or not. Lucky if they are not. They are horrid. I get PVC and PAC .
If you feel uncomfortable with them really scared etc then pop to a and e. They will prob give you another ECG aswell as hook u up to a monitor where call someone to come record it when your getting them unless they may let you home with a 24 hr holtor monitor but these are hard to get hold off, when I went up I had to go back week or so later to pick if up.
Try not to worry though. I know it's hard but you don't have anything to put u in danger doc would of instantly sent u up.
