Suddenly can't slow down heartbeat...

My husband woke up with his heart beating rapidly. He can't calm it down even by relaxing. He says his chest hurts & so does his back. When I felt his chest, I noticed it feels warm, like a fever but the rest of him doesn't. His father has a history of heart attacks so he is worried this is the start of one. Could it be or is he just getting sick?

It could also be Afib with a rapid ventricular response -- my particular problem.  Either way, I agree with tom, get to the ER, better safe than sorry.  Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

This could be SVT or Supraventricular tachycardia.  It's hard to say with the symptoms you've provided. It's best to take him to the ER, and hopefully you've done this already. Molease get back to us with what is going on.  Good luck!
