Slow heart rate when I wake up - bradycardia?

This morning when I woke up I checked my heart rate and it was 50 bpm. I've checked it early in the morning before and it was never this low before today. Is 50 bpm normal or is it too low?

I've heard that athletes have slower heart rates. I get 4-7 hours of moderate to vigorous exercise per week, but I'm not an athlete (or am I?). I suffer from heart palpitations (PVCs and PACs) and a new heart murmur. Could the slow morning heart rate be related somehow?

Anyone else have a slow heart rate in the morning?

hi Jenn,

I agree with itdood. not that big of a deal. Mine goes to 50 at night, maybe in the 40's. It never gets ubove 60's, unless I am stressing, treadmill.
Try not to worry.

What's your age?

It's a not a big deal.  Mine goes down to mid 40s, I'm 47 and do not exercise anymore though I appear to be in good shape, I don't think I am.    I've had it be that low, when my son fell out of bed, and my feet didn't hit the floor as a I jumped up to make sure he was OK.  Didn't miss a beat (pun intended).
