Thanks for your response. Since posting my question I've seen my cardiologist and he discontinued sotalol and I tried a new drug Multaq 400, which I discontinued after the first dose. You're right on the money, dizziness short of breath headaches numbness in arms and lower legs confusion and an inability to string a lucid sentence together. Two days off meds and the bp and pulse are still comparatively low for my norm, but at least my friends don't think I'm drunk when I speak. For now I'll live with the angina and pvc's & deal with the afib as it comes. Again thank you for your reply. Happy 4th to you and your family !
Sorry to see you didn't get an answer on July 1.
If you haven't already gone to ER I'd recommend try to live with the low BP/HR. Are you dizzy, headaches, short of breath... if not you are doing fine in my "book" with the low HR/BP. I take bot a BB and a CCB to lower my HR, boy I don't get any results like you state. Before AFib I had a resting HR in the lower 60s, with AFib and lots of medication I'm doing well to get my HR down to 70 at rest. Still, I get some shortness of breath, and even lightheadedness , but in my case I think most of that is side effect from the medication - not a too low HR. My BP runs in the very good range, but I have experienced the low BP you mention, and that caused my doctor to lower my dose of the BB I was/am on.
