palpitations

oh i am so worried, i need reasurance i think, i know i suffer with anxiety and have been tested for my heart before, etc, heart scan, ecg, 24hr tape but i have been having palpitations after eating certain foods, i am so worried so i went to see my doctor and she told me to go on beta blockers but i wont take them, my friend said that she had a 31yr old girl come into a&e and she had a cardiac arrest and died and she was complaining of palpitations, my friend is a nurse, oh that worried me so i went the doctors tonight and seen a different doctor but they dont think i need to see anybody but she has reffered me to the cardio unit in broad green hospital so i am panicking now going for the tests, i really hope its down to anxiety, i said to the doctor i wondered wether it could be my digestive system because when i eat certain foods my stomach swells and i always feel bloated, i hate this anxiety its driving me mad, i hate the feeling of my heart going fast, you automaticly think its going to make your heart weak.

Sounds like a good start would be to avoid "certain foods" that cause the problems.

That said, a cardiologist check-up and a diagnosis of what your palpitations are would be a good precaution...still I doubt you have any real worry about cardiac arrest.

One good practice, I think, is to take an aspirin (I take a 1/2 325 mg aspirin with breakfast) every day unless that causes you digestive or other problems.
