Tachycardia

I have had three episodes of tachycardia in the 120's-130's while at rest.  In fact, the first time it happened I was dead asleep and was woke by the loudest sound of my own heartbeat in my head.  I have also experienced quit a few palpations.  No dypnea or chest pain, just the racing heartrate for no reason.  What could this be?

I also have episodes of high heart rate . my cardiologist tested me and I passed all my heart test so he   sent me for sleep apnea test and I had some pointers but not a "full blown" case. My heart rate went up during my dream states.  Then I had two afib hits in my sleep twice in two months. I"m now on a afib med. My Cardiologist and my ENT doctors have successfully fought for a cpap machine for me and I should receive it soon. I not trying to scare you with all this but to say let your cardiologist know. I could have had this for years and did not have a clue it was going on (thought it was bad dreams). Both these conditions are able to be lived with but have to be tested for. I had all sorts of test and passed but it took the afib. attacks to link my problems.

Short runs at 130 and below is something I'd just watch while trying to cut out things that might stimulate it: caffeine and other stimulants.  Try to not think about it too much, emotions can trigger a fast HR.

If it continues, especially if it gets worse, consult your doctor.
