I have been experiencing what I assume to be heart palpitations for a few months now. I have had them on and off for years but in the recent months I have been having a few times a week.
What I experience is a 'thud' or a hard 'pulse' type feeling in my throat. (on the bottom soft part before the sternum, if that information matters) I might get one here and there but a few times I have had mutiple in a row. The most being five or six. When they have lasted long enough to feel my pulse i have felt that they are skipped beats.
The 'pulse' i get is a skipped beat. I feel the pulse in my neck for the skipped beat but no actual beat in my pulse.
Does this make sense? Like my heart rhythm goes beat .. beat .. beat.. (nobeat here but pulse felt in neck) beat.. beat..
These come any time. I dont smoke, drink, do drugs or even drink coffee and I am in my later 20's.
Are these palpiations? Im going to try magnesium as I've read it can be of help. But would like to know if they are actually palpitations or if anyone else experiences these exactly like i do
I have been to the doctors about this. He is not concerned in the slightest.
Ive had 24 hour holter monitor. Many EKGs. All have been fine.
I have a bad case of anxiety disorder which he thinks is the cause of this.
I do get left sided chest wall pains that come and go. He does not think that these things are related.
I have been having these pains for years and am starting to think it may be costochondritis.
Thanks to all who read and respond! I appreciate it so much.
