Help on Results

Originally tested  (neg) HBSAG & (neg) HBSAB after 11 months from a possible exposure however the HBV-DNA came back back + borderline

Heptology Lab retested me on Dec 31 and got the results back on January 7th 2009, new test results that show HBV-DNA undetectable and (HBSAG) neg & HBSAB neg

does this mean that there was an error in the first test that I am negative of Hepatitis B? The only concern I have if I am negative of Hep B is that the symptons I have seem to be = to those of Heb B
1) abdominal pain right side region (severe pain)
2) aches and pains through out body
3) stool a little loose but not Diahrea

Thanks for your response my hepotologist just called me today and said even though your HBV-DNA came back negative your liver enzymes are higly elevated (ALT 148 AST 68) I am having stinging pain in the liver area and aches and pains through out my body.
When I went on the plane it was alot worse something elevated the pain to rise severely,

Your retest pretty much confirmed you don't have HepB.  I would feel comfortable with the results.  Did you test for other types of Hepatitis as Cajim suggested?  The symptoms you listed are pretty general and could be other things.  Your doctors need to investigate for you.  Good luck.

Do you have the Hep B antibody?  I am in somewhat of a similar situation.  My GP has not been of much help.  I even changed health plans and I am still getting the same responses.   I tested negative four months after possible exposure.  I tested positive for the Hep B antibodies.  The clinicians said I had been exposed.  Then 8 months later, they say I have the antibodies because of the hep B vaccine shots I took in 2003.  I am certain that they don't know if the sky is purple or blue.  I will shot you message in your personal box.

You don't have HBV now, a good time to get vaccinated.

Symptoms looked like those of Hepatitis.
