Good question my mom was never tested. The assumption was made since 95% chronic carrier are either before age 5. So either by early childhood or by birth. Otherwise we would have all cleared in 6 months unless you have aids
When were you first diagnosed with hep b?
In 1996 when we moved to USA I was in high school at age 16. I donated blood and I received a letter in mail saying I can't donate. We didn't really take it seriously and no further testing was done. Then in 2006 I did another test just to learn more about it then my journey begin with tests etc...
Ok that points to infection at birth. If your mom is still alive, why not test her for the presence of anti core antibodies, to further clarify the origin of your infection?
I tried but mom is one of these few who don't really believe in medicine and testing. I will go with her next time and ask the doctor to test her.

Looks like you are doing great. I'm just only surprised about low count of SAG in comparison to DNA. (151 vs 1647 respectively). Normally I've seen SAG higher than DNA. Just an observation. Good luck!

The way I understood it there is no correlation between hbv DNA and hbsag quantitative. All they say from research if you hbsag less than 1000 and hbv DNA less than 2000 then you have a good prognosis of healthy life.

From all research I did I'm not very optemistic because my hbv DNA fluctuate from 1000 to 20000 and ultrasound show coarsened liver although I'm 174 lbs. so I think damage is happening but they say fibroscan is low 5.5 kpa.

In summary there is a lot still in the hbv field still hidden. Even for the most experienced doctors as the info they have from previous research are proven wrong on many occasions.

One story that might inspire you is barcelona ex star abidal who have hbv read his story
