I am already done with interferon for 48weeks.. I finished it last june 2011 and my doctor told me to take entecavir from june 2011 until now. Thanks god for helping me..
"some studies showed a decrease of hbsag from 24 to 48 weeks on etv but after 48 weeks hbsag increased back again " - how can I found that studys ?
I try to found study that corelate antivirals with HBsAg and I was found only few information and some time contradictory information (like the one from
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Hepatitis-B/serum-HBsAg-level-not-related-to-cccDNA/show/1547491)
very good result, check hbsag quantity in iu/ml, test done by abbott architect.if you lose hbeag antigen fast you have high probability of hbsag loss too
from latest data meeting:
add-on of interferon might help clear hbv definitively, after about 6months hbvdna und on etv i'd consider interferon add-on
the best time to add interferon is when hbsag goes low, if it reaches a level of about 1500-2000iu/ml that's the best time to add
some studies showed a decrease of hbsag from 24 to 48 weeks on etv but after 48 weeks hbsag increased back again
i actually had a hbsag at 2200iu/ml at about 5months treatment but as hbvdna was und it relapsed to 7200iu/ml, now it looks slowly decreasing stably, i added tnf because found some detactable hbvdna.
when we find hbsag at about 1500iu/ml we will add interferon, possibly interferon lambda if available the next years
hi stef i got my hbv dna (pcr) the result is 9 IU/ml this month november 2011, what do think do i stil contagious? previos result is
August 2011 result:
anti hbe....7.9999
Hbeag......137.505.
Nov 2011:
hbe antigen....10.79
anti hbe.........2.01
hbeag/hbeab is not very useful i'd monitor hbsag and if it doesnt decrease by 1-2 years of etv monotherapy you may add interferon or tenofovir
if hbvdna is fully und addition of interferon is very useful, but if hbvdna is detactable even at very low level i'd combo with tenofovir and add interferon only when hbvdna is well suppressed from long time
by the way you need at least one year of hbvdna fully und to have responce on hbeag and hbsag and few have response on these antigens, 3-5 years are needed
