Hello, Good Luck.
I am on week 6, I gotta tell you when I read alot of posts I was scared starting this med.  but I am doing great.  I get a little weak the first two days after my shot and a little tired but other than that no problems.  I had a little nausea the first couple of weeks but ginger and gingerale kept that in check.  My dr appt is tomorrow to see if this is working.  The great thing is that there are alot of people here to help you if you should have some side effects.
Remember drink alot!!! Water, gingerale, koolaid.
You will do great!

You're in the right place. I'm doing same treatment 10.5 weeks into it. Good luck with treatment and as other said if you have any side effects post them. It also helps to research them, the idea is to be ready or thwart them entirely. Eveyone probably gets sick of me saying this, but can't stress enough to drink lots of water and get some moderate exercise, ask your Dr. about taking B complex with lots of B12 and vitamin E to help with anemia. Anemia is inevitable; I haven't had too much of an issue with it until this last week. Even now, I'm wondering if it wasn't stress from work since this weeekend I haven't had the breathing issues. Some have had bad sides some hardly any. I haven't had to bad of a time, it just seems the few sides I get/got are fairly bad and then they go away. Really can't wait for the fat fests to end though. Hope it's smooth sailing, attitude is part of it, and it seems you are in the right frame of mind.

Great!  I read you other posts and I don't follow the above statement. I honestly believe no one on this forum would make such a comment as "Wait...fill in the comment here." I think I am be missing something or perhaps a post may have been removed. If it was one deterring you from treating or an attempt to 'rain on your parade' then I admire your resolve to trudge forward despite that and share your journey with us as we share ours with you.

One dose at a time is the spirit. No matter how dark things get we really only have this moment and fretting about the past or worrying about the future usually gets us no where but stressed out.

I just love your candor and hope you check in as often as you can. Oh, and Welcome to the forum!!  ♫

Hi There, I'm in week 6 of triple therapy, and half way through the Incivik (YAY). This is my third time on tx. Twice cleared, twice relapsed.  The previous 2 times, no side effects what so ever the duration of treatment. My doctor told me that with he Incikik/peg/rib combo I would not be so lucky. Guess what, almost no side effects at all. A little dry mouth, a tiny bit of "fog" a few hours after my injection, but that's about it. Stay positive and hopefully you will be as side effect free as I am!  Success!!!!!

welcome to the forum.  there are a lot of caring and informative people here.  we all try to help each other.  i feel that my cyber friends have been invaluable.  i don't know if i would have been as comfortable with sx without their suggestions.  the most important info for me was to drink LOTS of water.  it really helps with sx.
i am in my 44th week of tx with 4 more to go.  it's been fairly okay for me.  good luck on your journey.  belle

Congratulations on starting treatment. Hope it will be smooth. If you get side effects, post them. We may have some remedies.

I am finishing up week 31 and have 19 more to go (Pegasys, Riba, Incivek).

If you are interested in seeing how many of us are doing, go to Frijole's profile and click on the white sheets under photos. She is keeping stats on as many people as she has data for. She will put you down too if you want and if you give her your stats. (Genotype, subtype if you know it. Have you treated before and if so, how many times and what happened each time.

Welcome to the forum! You will find it chock Dillon invaluable information and knowledgeable, supportive people. I have just finished week 16 of 24 of triple therapy with Incivek. Without the support and wisdom of this group, it would have been a much tougher trip.
I'll reiterate what workingdog said....stay on top of your labs. Wishing you a great outcome!

My wife has been going through tripple therapy for about 20 weeks now.  She started getting a real bad itch which added to her not sleeping at night.  Melatonin helps her at night and she finally found an over the counter skin cream that has stopped her itch completely.  A company called Seacret makes a skin cream, among other products.  Just use the skin cream, all the products are supposed to contain minerals from the Dead Sea.  Dont know if that has anything to do with it, but her itch stopped the minute she started using the product and this was after trying about 10 other products

If you have any mental confusion don't worry
it comes with the territory. Try to keep you meds organized.
Get all the alarms and bells set so you don't miss any meds.
It's easy in the beginning to almost miss mediciation. Don't let that happen.
I found I was confused and didn't even understand what was happening.

Wishing you the very best treatment and SVR.

Welcome, and it sounds like you are going in with a good attitude! I'm on the Victrelis, and havent had such a bad time with it, and I also have another woman in my support group, on Incivek, that hasn't had any really bad side-effects, so, it is possible!
