From the US CDC

“ Fingerstick devices, also called lancing devices, should never be shared, even with close family and friends. This guidance includes both the lancet (i.e., the sharp instrument that actually punctures the skin) and the pen-like device that houses the lancet. Neither should be used for more than one person.”

If there was a risk of hepatitis c infected blood entering your blood stream there could be a small risk. If concerned wait 12 weeks and get tested for hepatitis C antibodies. If that test is negative you do not have hepatitis C.

The hepatitis C forum is primarily a support community for those infected with and living with hepatitis C and the effects of treatment we can neither diagnose nor recommend any medical advice. This is a community of patients there are no medical professionals here.

For medical advice I suggest you speak to your personal physician.
