Thanks for the info. I did find a list of acronyms. My Dr. doesn't seem to think that a HGB of 10 is low or in need of any rescue. I had another blood test on the 27th haven't recieved the results yet, but I did get good news about my VL. It is in normal range after just 4wks of tx. Still have to take meds for another 5months, if I make it that far. Not feeling very good these days.
Take Care,
Darla
There is a great list of acronyms...I don't know where it is at the moment! Sorry. Yes, Sx is sides, tx is treatment, ANC is absolute neutrofil count, HGb is hemoglobin. Dx is diagnoses. PCR is the test to give VL (viral load) and genotype BX is biopsy...I forget them all. You will figure them out, I am sure someone will post!
I posted as to the neutrofils...not sure if it is ANC, but .7 is low. Low for a HGB is about 10. These are when you may want to get some rescue drugs from a Hemo (hemotologist) Geez, we sure need an info page to give the newbies a clue as to the terms we use!! Welcome! Please stick around, you will not regret it!

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear that you didn't responde to tx. I wonder sometimes if this tx is worth it with all the sx involved. I took my last blood test on the 20th, having another on the 27th to see if my blood levels are any worse.
Best wishes
Darla
I'm kinda new as well, and as far as I can tell tx is for treatment of any kind. sx = side effects. many acronyms I can't figure out either. wish there was a list somewhere.
can't comment on neutrophils except mine were .7 (whatever that means) and I was a slow responder and they stopped tx.
when any count gets close to problematic, they will increase blood draws to monitor it.
I got a flu shot prior tx, and tried to avoid sick friends.
luck to you
