Boceprevir Study for non-responders update

Hi guys,

I posted a few times before. I am in the BOC trial for non-responders (the one with Pegasys). Just wanted to share my stats.

Just got my 6 week PCR.

Start day was 2.7 mil
Week 2   was 2.9 mil (i freaked out and wrote here. Non-responder it is eh?)
Week 4   was 950,000
Week 6   was 8,750!!!! (that's a 2 log drop after only 2 weeks of BOC isn't it? i guess i got the real deal??)

Let me know what you all think. I do get a bitter taste after I take the blue pills. Also they give me stomach ache if i take them on empty stomach. I know there are a few of you here going through this trial. How are you all doing?

About me: female, 29 years old, 1b, tx'd 3 years ago and never cleared, hence a non-responder.

So at this point what am I looking for? Trying to be clear by week 8?

I do shot 34 this week...of 36/48,depending on the arm im in ...ill go the 48 if im chosen....im having NO SIDES AT ALL...maybe some normal worry and stress...otherwaise im feeling pretty good

If you clear after 4 weeks of taking the BOC,you are considered a RVR...i am in a BOC trial for nonresponders as well and i went UD by week 6,thats 4 weeks with the lead in SOC and 2 wks of the BOC...my 34/36 or 48 ahot is this week....my base VL was 20 mill...

In my naive trial, they were looking for clearance by wk. 8, that's 8 wks SOC plus 4 wks. boceprevir.  Gosh, I don't know enough about PI viral kinetics to tell you if your results are outstanding, but you can generally tell you have the trial drug from the weird taste that comes on an hour after swallowing pills (for me) and from the GI side effects.  Hope you will give us another report when you clear.
