Clinical trial GS-7977 and BMS-790052

I started this clinical trial yesterday, 12 weeks, all oral. (NCT01359644)

There were two arms -  one with and one without Ribavirin. My arm is (unfortunatley) without.

I know some people here are contemplating and/or screening for this trial. I'd love to keep in touch and exchange feedback.

Good health to all...

Kat

Congratulations! Great news. I know what you mean about the stress of waiting two weeks for the result. There's another thread started by UKgirl that inquires specifically if anyone has their SVR4 results from this trial. You seem to be the first. I'm still waiting for mine. The question I'm thinking about: Has there been 100% concordance between Svr 4 and Svr 12 on the 24 week version of our trial, as there has been with other 12 week trials using 7977?

   UPDATE!!!
Just received my pt week 4 results and I am still undetected.
What a relief, waiting 2 weeks for the results is a little stressful.
Next test is week 12 post.

Hi All,
I havent posted since April 9 because there wasn't a whole lot to tell. But I finished my 12 week trial about 4 weeks ago and I just got the results of my PT 2 week blood draw and I am still undetected. These 2 drugs are amazing is all I can say. I will post in about 2 weeks with the results of PT 4.
Just to recap for any one new. I started the GS 7977 & BMS 790052 trial on March 13.

I am type 1a and I am not taking the Ribavirin. I started at over 4,000,000 and on day 4 the reading was 219 and day 5 was 82 day 6 was 51 and day 7 was 29, day 11 < 25 virus detected, unable to quantitated and day 21 Undetected.
I had almost no side affects. slight head ache and a little tired but that is about it.

Regarding the contract issue - the people controlling the trial I'm on (per the agreement I signed is BMS - and I might add, they are taking good care of us).  It is also a collaberation with Pharmasset (speling??).  When Gilead bought Pharmasset, this agreement was already in place (a contract), so Gilead had to honor it.  I don't know if the new arm of Phase II we are all in was agreed to after Gilead bought Pharmasset, but however you look at it, BMS is the sponsor of the trial - in collaberation with Gilead (previously Pharma).  It is Gilead that is holding up the forward action.  I have been thinking about this and they are located in California.  If someone is an activist type person with the ability to organize this, if a bunch of HCV people bought shares in Gilead, we are then authorized to attend an annual meeting of the Company (likely to be held in California). We could bring this up at the next board meeting if they take no action.  If we are shareholders, we are owners of the company.  If we, as a group, own enough of the shares, we can have the topic brought up for a vote and force the board of directors and executives (who work for the shareholders) to do as we vote.  We have to become active in this to get it to change.  I can't do it, but I can encourage someone else to do it.  Anyone out there ready for a challenge???
