Clinical trial GS-7977 and BMS-790052

I started this clinical trial yesterday, 12 weeks, all oral. (NCT01359644)

There were two arms -  one with and one without Ribavirin. My arm is (unfortunatley) without.

I know some people here are contemplating and/or screening for this trial. I'd love to keep in touch and exchange feedback.

Good health to all...

Kat

Sorry to take so long to get back to you - I've been out of the country for the last two and a half weeks.  I believe all fifteen of us on this trial at my clinic are GT 1s. Five were treatment naive, like me, and did 12 weeks of treatment. The other ten had failed protease inhibitor treatments and are doing the 24 week version. We are evenly divided between those with ribavirin and those without. I have taken no riba. I'm going in tomorrow for my three weeks post treatment blood test, an unusual interval because I've been abroad. Then it's on, I sincerely hope, to SVR4.

Hi:
Are you taking 7977 and interferon. Or is it just 7977 in a form of pills?

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that version of the problem. The only versions I've heard are that 1) Gilead can, but won't collaborate because of profit loss (the petition version), and 2) Gilead's version that it is too early to go to Phase 3 approval.

Are you saying that some "legal contract" between Pharm and BMS prior to the sale prevents the new owner of the drug, Gilead, to move forward with new legal contracts with BMS? That makes me wonder why Gilead would buy a new drug that it can't control.

I'm in a Pharmasset 7977 trial, too, and I started after the sale. I'm going to ask my tx team which pharm co is really controlling the drug and my trial. You really have me thinking about this now, lol.
