Clinical trial GS-7977 and BMS-790052

I started this clinical trial yesterday, 12 weeks, all oral. (NCT01359644)

There were two arms -  one with and one without Ribavirin. My arm is (unfortunatley) without.

I know some people here are contemplating and/or screening for this trial. I'd love to keep in touch and exchange feedback.

Good health to all...

Kat

Thanks to all who wished me luck and best of luck to all!

Today is day 14   (7977+ BMS790052, 12 wks)

Sx- much more tired than usual. Low-grade headaches from late afternoons until night on most days.

VL:
day minus 1 (pre-meds) = 2,100,000
day 1 (4 hrs post meds)  = 68,700
day 1 (8 hrs post meds)  =29,100
day 2 = 2,800
day 3 = 600
day 4 =175
day 5 =111
day 6 =87

Based on everything I've read, I fully expected to have a rapid and significant VL drop (actually, I thought I'd be UND after a week). The real anxiety will come after the 12 weeks.

Just wanted to keep everyone updated. I don't really know the protocol here. Should i just create a journal instead of posting updates publicly?

Also, why is curiouslady gone?

Thanks for the update Katla. Post wherever you want....I'll follow :-)

Glad to hear the side effects aren't really bad....not pleasant, but a whole lot better than IFN would be eh?

CuriousLady was blocked by medhelp. I do not know the specific reason why. At the time there was a lot of discord over keeping a balance between criticism of current standard of care treatment and what to my mind is justified enthusiasm over the PSI7977 and BMS790052 trials. I assumed it was related to that.

It is a pity in my opinion, as she took the trouble to supply a lot of useful information about this very important trial. She is doing well, still UND and active on a couple of other forums. Namely HCVSupport.org and hepatitis-central.

Good luck to you Katia. All information is much appreciated.

Hey Kat!

That's great.  I hope to follow in your footsteps.  Will they let you take anything for the headaches?  How are you sleeping?

Keep it going!

In respect to Odin, I'll give you my opinion that if CL was able to focus on sharing her valuable information about the oral trials, she would still be on the forum.
Unfortunately when she ventured onto other topics, ( especially interferon tx, of which she had no experience) there was  much unpleasentness.

Medhelp has rules which include not insulting members.
They give you a couple of warnings, I think, before they block a member.
If interested you could read, the Terms of Use.

I just chose not to take anything since it's tolerable so I didn't even ask.

Figured there's enough in my body at the moment.

Thanks all.
