Well, I made it to the end game. 5 weeks to go of 48. Recap: Geno3. Stage 4 compensated. Failed a 12 wk and 24 week tox. 3rd tox now and took an aggressive approach. DD every 5 days for first 4 weeks with 1600 riba. Then 180 peg weekly with 1200 riba. UND at week 5/6 <5, and UND throughout <50. Sx manageable. Also on many supplements too numerous to list here. (see journal).
Now I have always planned to taper down the peg at EOT. Thinking about going with Geterdones plan of interrupting the peg (skip a dose), then hit it with a DD dose and begin the taper while upping some immune boosting supps like lactoferrin. As a 2 time relapser, I am all for "tweaking" things a bit. Just the way I roll.
Anyway, I like my chances. ALT and AST around 30, and no URQ pain for many weeks now. Thanks for all the support.

If you are not still taking it add Astragalus just before the end and continue for a little past Complete SOC end. It activatives IFN genes.

EV, I saved the olive leaf for just that reason, you have been an awesome support.
Smaug, I use Swanson brand for the lactoferrin. I recommend whey powder as well. (after tox)

I am also with Jim on the vitamins, after having your system pumped up for so long it stands to reason that you will feel the deceleration of the vitamins if stopped all at once for which I don’t think it is in your plans but will you be tapering off of them as well over a longer period of time, like the next three months until the pcr?

Honestly, I'm more concerned about how you're going to taper down your daily load of vitamins and supplements. LOL. As you know, everyone is not an advocate of "tapering", but whatever you do, finish up the 48 weeks of regular dosing (no skipped weeks) and then fire the rockets at will! Good luck!

If you still have some olive leaf around, (I remember you taking that at one time.) it might be a good one to throw in for the end. I could never find any data that made me sure about taking it with tx but I think it might have some merit as you are getting off of the interferon. Cocksparrow might have a comment on it.

The nice weather is coming and getting back to your outdoors adventures will probably really help you recover fast.

Gauf I dont like the idea of skipping a dose, even with Alinia which might cover for it to some extent.
If you relapse then you would alsways wonder if the skipped dose was the reason.
Well i would.
Just go with the taper and keep taking Alinia until the taper stops.
