Thyroid or anemia ?

10th week of triple tx with incivek and I'm hitting the wall. I have had mild anemia and my last blood work (two weeks ago) showed a slightly under active thyroid.  I am due for blood work on Monday.  The last few days I have been extremely fatigued, coughing short of breath and no stamina. Just excused all the time. I was still detectable at eight weeks and now feeling worse and worse each day. Not sure id theres a question here but needed to share it with folks that understand. A little down.

The doc should be doing both a complete blood count and a thyroid test on Monday so he/she can see if they have changed. It sounds like you are anemic from your symptoms so it is good you are having blood drawn on Monday.

Hang in there. It gets a lot better after you finish Incivek (at least it did for me).

Had my blood drawn today and I see the doctor Thursday.  More shall be reviled.  Onlyn16 more days on the incivek. Mdoctor also took PCR. it would be nice if VL went down.  My last test two weeks ago actually went up a bit from the test two weeks prior.

GL to you and many thanks.

Thanks for responding. I see doc on Thursday. He's pro active and has discussed rescue drugs or thyroid meds. Can't wait until incivek is over. I know you fell the same. Good luck to you.

Don't give up! Everybody responds differently, I'm also at 10 weeks and have had heavy side effects. I keep going  1.) because i know only 2 more weeks it will get easier and 2) i've already suffered so much it would be silly to give up until there is absolutely no hope!  You may be having a slower response due to age, it takes longer to heal, but if your doctors are allowing you to continue you owe it to yourself to fight! I have all of those same side effects, also pain, there are things that can help don't be afraid to ask your doc for help with sides, many of them just don't appreciate how awful we truly feel. if you need to rest, rest. Sleeping helps.
