Hearing Loss During Treatment?

Have any of you experienced any hearing loss during treatment, with or without tinnitus?  For anyone who has, was it attributed to Pegasys at all, and did your hearing return to baseline after treatment?

My husband, currently on treatment, saw an audiologist today and was informed that he had as much as 80% hearing loss.  I've read and re-read the Pegasys inserts but have not found any warnings about ear problems, only eye problems.  On the other hand, I've also noticed in the archives here a number people complaining about tinnitus and temporary hearing loss during treatment, and can't help but wonder if the two are possibly related.

The audiologist expressed concern that it could be neurosensory hearing loss and is referring my husband to an otologist for further evaluation.  He could hear the low ranges ok, but very little mid-range (only if close to 100 decibles) and almost nothing in high-range frequencies. My hope is that his condition can be improved with a hearing aid, but that remains to be seen.

Any feedback welcomed. ~eureka

My hearing ability also dropped a lot during tx. A doctor said it was a mid-ear problem but there was no infection. Often the 'drum' wouldn't vibrate properly  so everything sounded muffled, a friend suggested frying garlic in mustard oil and then putting two drops in the ear at night. Right ear first night left ear the next. I tired it and the muffled effect went away but I'm pretty sure today I don't hear as well as I used to, and not just because I'm 6 months  older.

My ears rang on treatment, and still ring occasionally 45 days post.  I swear I can't hear as well.  I am constantly asked people to repeat themselves, I hope it returns !
