First injection last night

I took my first Pegasys injection last night. I helped my fiancee through his treatment last year on PegIntron, and was really prepared for the strong side effects of the first few injections. I had no reaction at all....maybe just a little chilling, but nothing else. I did drink a ton of water for the three weeks prior to my injection, because I know hydration lessens the side effects - but this seems out of the norm from what I've been reading. Has anyone else experienced this? It worries me a little.

Remember that the side effects are different for everyone. Fortunately mine weren't that bad. I hope the same for you.

Congrats on taking your first shot, as others have said from what I understand and have read everyone's journey is different.  I just took my 5th, and I think that the first was the most difficult so far.  Good luck!

You are very wise at taking the dehydration warnings serious!! I, too had little reaction in the beginning, and noticed a marked difference in tolerability torward the end.. Water WAS my saving grace!! The more I drank the better the side effects seem to be.. Just KEEP drinking!! Bottoms Up!! Goodluck and God Bless!!

Everyone reacts differently and it doesn't mean that the medication is not working because you are not experiencing harsh side effects.  Over time, as the medications build up in your body you may have some bad days but that's part of the treatment process.  Adequate fluid intake is very helpful but doesn't quell all the side effects associated with hepatitis c treatment.

Stay the course and keep an open mind.  You'll be fine.  Good Luck.

My advice is if ur gonna be drinkn tons of water, make sure it either filtered my reverse osmosis or distilled...and u can forget bottled water...not good...unless its distilled bottled.

I didn't notice anything the first few weeks.  But, then I did.
It's been o.k. The first few made my the injection site red and itchy, but not anymore.
