Here we go again...

I swear the pegasys/copegus has made me a borderline hypochondriac. I am now over 2 months post treatment and I'm having another problem. I posted a few weeks ago about my vision (which, although the dr says there is nothing medically wrong with my eyes, has deteriorated noticeably in just weeks...scary), and now I'm having a new problem. The past 5 days I have had a dull but consistent aching in my legs, mainly my knees. I certainly had the aches and pains during treatment but they came and went. This has been a run of 5 days or so without going away. It's not overly painful or anything, but it still has me worried. I guess what I'm wondering is if this is a typical symptom for someone 2 months post treatment? If not, I guess I have other problems on my hands. I also have had some sporadic itching problems, which I didn't really have while on treatment. I was a rapid responder and tolerated treatment relatively well, but I feel like this is something I will never really be able to leave in the past, even if I am svr. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Really looking for some peace of mind at this point.

Thanks guys.

these posts are good info.

I've been feeling great post tx 8 wks with the exception of my eyesight.  But, my husband has been feeling bad post tx and he has developed psoriasis and overall thin skin.

Odd thing, I had horrible sx's during tx - came off two wks earlier (46 wks).  Dr. said I wouldn't survive two more wks and now I feel great.  On the other hand, my hubby - not bad sx's at all (comparatively speaking) - only hemoglobin slightly dropped and how he feels terrible post tx.

I think that we at times, when we have aches and pains we tend to think it related to treatment etc.  It might be and it might not be treatment related.  I do that! --- I automatically think this is because of treatment.   It's something that I cant help but think.  I know how you're feeling.  Your body has been through alot.  It might just be adjusting or just getting back to normality......I'm not sure but I just know, that I think that everything is related to  treatment as well.

Hope you're well..

If you mean 4 week post tx, I didn't get labs at that point. I actually just got my first post tx labs today, at 10 weeks.

Tx is a life changing experience, that's for sure. Had a long talk with a good friend who also went through it just the other night. She totally agreed. If it inspires you to clean up your life, and nothing more, then it was not a waste. You are young, and your chances of SVR are very good. I'm assuming your 4 week came back clear. That is even better.

Thank you. Definitely eases my mind knowing this kind of thing is common. But to annie, that is precisely how I feel. I felt fine for weeks, felt great actually considering how I felt for ten months, then all of a sudden I have slight temperatures again, and this damn aching. Which is really what made me wonder. What an absolute nightmare though. I feel like every problem I have now, insignificant to serious, can be attributed to this, and I fear I will have these lingering problems forever that will give me anxiety forever. I feel so sad for the people that haven't gotten off as "easy" as me.

I can tell you this...if I'm svr when all is said and done, I am going healthy and organic food, vitamins, no pharmaceuticals if I can avoid them, the whole nine. God only knows what this could do to us long term. Not to mention all the other garbage I put in my body for years (which is what got me into this mess to begin with). Anyway, thank you again, and God bless.

To me, it feels like the stuff releases from time to time from my system. I'll feel fine, and then the sides will come back. I'm almost 4 months post tx, by the way. I agree, with the others, you are not a hypochondriac. This stuff is very real. I have a good friend who treated about 9 years ago and we talked at length about this very thing the other night. She had a lot of residual problems after her treatment. At least I don't feel as horrible as I did while I was on the stuff! Give it time, I've heard as much as a year. I think they tell people not to try to get pregnant for 6 months after treating for a reason. Should be a pretty big hint as to how long it stays in your system.

You are NOT a hypochondriac!  I have found post-TX nearly as challenging as TX.  I had horrible pain in my right knee at 2 mos. post.  Only lasted about 3 days.  Now, 6 mos. post, I have the same awful pain in my left knee.  It's fake and I'm just going to wait it out.  Lots of other goofy ways that the meds can pop up and most of them just need to be ridden out.  The worst is not knowing what really needs attention and what should be ignored.  At least you feel a lot better and know it will pass.  Hang in there.

Both the vision and aching in knees I think is normal. I have gotten a bit blurry sight myself, and I have seen others write about aching in limbs post tx. They said it will pass. I think we are all getting a bit hypchondriac after going through this, and with good reason.

Wish you good luck on recovery and a big fat SVR =)
