Hepatitis c questions!

Ok so I'm in the military and they tested for hep a and b in basic, but I had a question about hep c. I had blood work done just before I came in my liver enzymes were up at that time I also had a std test and all came back negative for hepatitis and everything. So they sent me to a Gi he did a hep panel and it all came back to normal but the liver enzymes again and said that sometimes they just rise for no reason and will go down. (Also, did a ultra sound and was normal no fatty liver).

So I just want to make sure that my test are accurate I did have sex one time unprotected and also have used my finger a few times on a girl is there any risk for hep c through sexual intercourse or using your finger especially? I have read it never been proven to get hep c from sexually inter course that it's IV drug use. The girl also took a std test at 11 weeks and a few days and tested negative for everything. Also, how accurate is test at 6 weeks my doctor said that with the test they do today that it's in mid 90's at 6 weeks.

I guess my real question is how accurate is the test she had done, is it possible to catch hep c from using your finger, can you catch hep c with a condom and your opinion would you say I'm at any risk for hep c? Because when I eat I do have pain on my right side of rib cage and the dead center and it burns.

Thanks everybody who can help me I'm kinda freaking out and thinking it's more my gallbladder causing all of this to happen along with my liver enzymes

Hepatitis C is transmitted by blood to blood contact.  If you have a open wounds and they come in contact with someone else blood.... you could get hepatitis C.  All that said...hepatitis C isn't that easy to get.  If your concerned you may have hepatitis C...go get tested.

First, thanks for your military service!

"So I just want to make sure that my test are accurate I did have sex one time unprotected and also have used my finger a few times on a girl is there any risk for hep c through sexual intercourse or using your finger especially?"

Here's a link to a great pod cast you can listen to. Its only 16 minutes and is about sexual transmission of the virus and bases its statistics on a study of 500 couples in which one person had HCV. Very informative and may put your mind at ease.

"Also, how accurate is test at 6 weeks my doctor said that with the test they do today that it's in mid 90's at 6 weeks. "

What test did you have? An HCV RNA PCR or and HCV ab test. If you had a PCR, they are very reliable and sensitive.

It sounds like your fine so I wouldn't worry if I were you.
