A friend of mine from another Hep C site finished her Hep C tx (24 wks) a couple of months ago and she had had the same issues. In fact, she got so bad that she almost had her husband take her to the hospital for help. Luckily it passed and she is doing just great now.
So, I believe it is a side effect of the TX and it will get better. In the meantime, if it gets worse than you can handle, please call your doc for help.
As they say – it is important to keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.
The EMPowerplus label enumerates a deceptively dull list of ingredients. It is a simple formula that contains no novel or exotic compounds, and upon reading the label you might even be fooled into thinking that you're looking at the back of a bottle of Centrum. The vitamins in the mix include A, C, D, E, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B9, B12, and H. The mineral blend consists of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, potassium, iodine, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, and iron. Add a dash of TrueHope's "CNS Proprietary Blend" (dl-phenylalanine, glutamine, citrus bioflavanoids, grape seed, choline bitartrate, inositol, ginkgo biloba, methionine, germanium sesquioxide, boron, vanadium, nickel), and you have the most controversial supplement ever to come out of Canada
NaturalNews) A new supplement from Truehope Nutritional Support, Ltd. may hold promise for people suffering from bipolar and other mood disorders. EMPowerplus is a supplement sporting a blend of 36 vitamins, minerals and amino acids, and it’s making waves in the Canadian and American psychiatric communities. To its critics it is an unproven treatment that could prove dangerous, but to those who claim to have been helped by the supplement it is nothing short of a scientific breakthrough in the treatment of mood disorders.

TRUE HOPE is the name
there is also SAM-E. I never used it but I know a few on here have. Even after tx we have worries, all the questions, breath
I've seen other people here mention something like this but somehow we're not often prepared for it.
My nurse mentioned to me today that some of her patients feel worse for a month after treatment than during but this is just her anecdotal account. Here in the forum, I've read of every possibility under the sun.
I'm glad you're feeling physically better so quickly. Exactly what do you mean by losing your mind? Is it like anything you've experienced before? Or is it the way you imagine psychosis or nothing remotely that serious?
There is a multivitam out there that claims to help with mental problems...its called "True Hope"....do a google ...and no...i dont sell it
A met a lady who was prescribed AD's after tx finished, and have just witnessed another lady who finished 48 weeks tx and felt worse in the two weeks following (she's started to feel slightly better now), so I believe it's common.
It could be the chemicals, your immune system kicking back in (there are lots of changes happening in your body), and I believe there is an awareness of depression after tx.
There is pressure on us from our friends and family that we've "finished" and should be feeling great and it certainly doesn't happen overnight, so continue to be as kind to yourself as you were on tx - suggest you keep a journal post tx, put a 1 week date on it so that you can see if you feel better than you did the previous week. Seek help if you need it. Good luck and congrats for getting through tx.... now is a mentally challenging time.
