That is my personal opinion as a person who works in a machine shop yes.
If you want a medical opinion I also said ask your doctor who is your first and best choice for medical opinion as opposed to an Internet chat room with well meaning and generally well read lay persons who are not doctors.
So you clearly mentioned that there is no risk, I will believe that and testing is not required, thank you for your advise
Copied from above:
We are not experts we are patients and caregivers for people dealing with hepatitis c. We come from all walks of life but the majority of us are not medical professionals.
If you are looking for an expert opinion I suggest you ask a doctor.
In my non expert opinion you are not at risk. If you are concerned get tested if that is what you wish to do the choice is yours.
If my friend is hepatitis c positive, there will be a chance for transmission..
Please clarify
Thank you for your all reply, know I will ease my worried, thank you for saying I am not in risk
What you describe is not a hygienic practice. Bleeding gums indicate periodontal disease. It is caused by bacteria which you risk catching from your friend.
Maybe gum disease is not as bad as viral hepatitis, but in itself is pretty bad. It comes with bad breath, weak teeth and is associated with cardiovascular disease (because those bacteria tend to spill into the bloodstream and cause systemic inflammation).
By sharing cigarettes you can also catch tuberculosis, flu or the bacterium that causes stomach ulcers. No cigarette is worth that.
Seek professional help ASAP!
Why worry about hep when you are going to die from smoking those nasty things they call "cigarrettes"! Don't you read the warnings on the packages of those things? That is what you should be "worried" about!
Just one more thought. Does your friend even have hep c?
If he does not then there is no way to catch what is not there to catch. You could save yourself some time and money by asking your friend his health status.
