Thanks for your clarification.  Yes, I meant hepatologist. I had been going to a gastroenterologist who prescribed the HCV treatment of interferon and ribavirin. But I will be seeing a hepatologist in September.

If I were you I would go and see a Hepatologist (liver specialist) and see what he/she says. A Hepatologist would also be up to date on any new Hepatitis C medications that may come on the market in the future. Plus, he/she can order and monitor your liver function tests and other tests concerning your liver, including liver biopsy if needed.

Thanks.  I agree, sometimes I get so worked up with promising supplements that I forget that it, too, could tax my liver.  I'm going to a hematologist in September and hope something will work.  I don't want to go through interferon and Ribaviron again. Looking for oral treatment with better success rate.

I hope you find success. With all the new meds coming available, surely.... Alternative medicine can certainly have a place, but honestly? Check with a doctor first. Mine is open to vitamins and supplements, but they put me on a total restriction with stage 4 cirrhosis.
Be careful. Your liver is taking a hit already with hcv. You don't want to cause further damage by taking unknown supplements that a doctor is leery of. Just my opinion.
I took bovine extract. Really, before diagnosis, I was looking for anything to help me feel better. I had to learn to listen to transplant team.

Thanks, I am trying to get into some treatment. After my failed treatment that ended Oct 2011, I have been trying to get into the Gilead clinical trials but they're no longer accepting.  Hopefully, it'll be on the market next year and hope I'll be successful.

Treatment works. Do it and move on with your life.
Forget about LW and the other con men and the hocus pocus. It doesn't work.

Good luck.

Well it's understandable that when one relapses we tend to grasp at anything and of course there are low life's like Lloyd lurking around to take advantage of people. He is about as low as they get and reminds me of this saying when it comes to him... A fool and their money are soon parted.

Hang in there better treatments are a coming..... Best to you.

Wow, I read it and thanks.  I'm new to this site and there is so much knowledge and support here.  Wish I had known about this site when I went through my treatment of 48 weeks and relapsed after 3 months.  I was looking for answers and hope.
