I will be prayin for you.
Thanks - I will need it. I am trying to work and do this at the same time. My first round I worked for 7 months, but went from 125 down to 88 and had to stop working. This time I thought I would be more sensible and just go out on disability, but the stars don't always align properly, and I will have to be in next week because my boss is on vacation. I am a bond trader, and we are down a person, so I will be the only trader in next week. I am really hoping I can hang in there. The first time I did it I was ok week one, but my daughter was sick as a dog the first day. Can't wait to see what happens? What is your story triggertime, if you don't mind me asking?
Hi this forum is very active with lots of knowledgeable people with lots of support. Im treating with incivek and have had a rough ride but have not been bucked off yet.
Thanks for checking in. How long have you been on? I did 48wks with peg/ ribo in 2001 and it too was a rough ride. I am stressing about work. very political times, and although they say they will be supportive - hey - you never know. I had to take neupogen after week two of the first round because the interferon wiped out my neutorphils and wbc. The teleprvir is supposed to wipe out your red count - will they treat that side with procrit? All I have seen is that if you get severe anemia they may take you off the incivek.
I starting teleprevir in 2 weeks. scared to death of the rash. But hopeful to get through this once and for all
My daughter did it for the 12 weeks and while she had to go out on disability, her red count stayed up ok. She did feel nauseous a lot, and it is hard to eat the 2 grams of fat reguired for each dose three times a day. So if any one has good options for that aspect, please let Roostermom and pcds know - we could use the advice.
as you may know relapsers have great success with telaprevir. adequate serum vitamin D levels seem to be important for SVR. take a look at the following. http://www.natap.org/2010/EASL/EASL_26.htm

Thanks for that. I am something of a vitamin junky and take 2000 mg of D a day, along with magnesian, B complex Omega 3-6-9 calcium, milk thistle (which my doc say to stop during treatment), C and a multi vitamin. I like to say I am in the cone of vitamin safety, and truth be told, I don't get all the colds and bugs that get passed around the office of at my house!
I just started week eight. My hgb dropped back down to 8.7 and I am on procrit. It went up to 10.0 a couple of days ago from 8.5 but went down again. I think if i go below 8.5 they can make me stop. Im just hanging in there right now.
I am starting on 8-19-11 and am a bit nervous myself. I am the single Mom of triplet boys age 9 and am pretty much on my own with no family. I am a fitness coach so my work keeps me active. I hope I can still function because I am counting on this protocol working and ruse to quit if it is working. I have genotype 1A.Any insight on the severity of the rash would be appreciated as well as any help /advice of preparing!
The Incevik seems to be working great for geno type 1. Good luck
Your question about the fat intake, the correct amount is 20 grams of fat with each dose. Maybe just a typing error. I just started making a protein shake with whole milk and add 1tablespoon of peanut butter I figure about 30 grams. Much easy to drink it down then eat that much. Also a stouffers French bread supreme pizza 21 grams.
Good luck
Joe
