It's just a simple bloodtest to determine if you have it or not.
Once the hepc antibodies have been discovered you should go and get what is called a PCR in simple terms - that will tell you if you have a viral load present and if you do then that will mean you do have active hepc. If it comes back undetectible it will mean that your body was one of the approximately 20% that has cleared it on it's own.
At the same time they do the liver panel and a CBC - but it's just a few vials of blood like you are having a regular blood test.
