Have you had only the antibody test ir have you had the test for the hep c virus itself?
Normally people have the antibody test first then if positive you need to have asecond test to confirm you are currently infected with hep c. The reason is about 25% of people are able to beat hep c without treatment. But those people will always test positive for hepatitis c antibodies.
If you had the hep c virus test (called HCV RNA by PCR) you should have been told your viral load. Also you should have another test to find out your genotype of hep c that would be like 1a,1b, 2a, 2b etc.
Do you have medical insurance? Even if you don't there are different ways to get treatment
Good luck to you
Lynn

Hi the manufacturing companies are helping people get treated. If you have it your doctor should be able to help. If not there is a lot of help out there
There is the PAN Foundation in addition to the drug manfacturers.
You will need to fin out your geno type to find out which drug you can take.
There is a new drug just approved in June that will treat all geno types.
Good luck!
