7 Week test conclusive?

I had an Anti-body test done at 7 weeks for HCV.  Turns out HIV antibodies only take 6 weeks to show up on 3rd and 4th Gen tests.  I only mention that cause I'm wondering if HCV is the same.

My "exposure" was sexual.  Involving a finger with possible secretions, and an anus.

Anyway, my HCV anti-body test is negative at 7 weeks... can I relax or retest?  What is the actual window period(non conservative)?

Had some abdominal pain, diarrhea, back ache, chest rash, joint pain, etc.

Thank you, Hectorsf.

But is it really that surprising?  I had doctors and even HIV counselors tell me you can get HIV from having someone perform on you.  I had one doctor not able to know the difference between a skin fungus(tinea vesicula or something like that) and a birthmark.  She tried to convince me I was born with it, lol.  Another doctor didn't know the difference between a hairline fracture and a contusion.

I appreciate everyone's responses because quite honestly, I trust all of you way more than the doctors I've seen.

Re-read my post.
You had no "exposure" to hepatitis C.
Why any doctor would even order a test based on the story you tell means he is ill informed about hepatitis C and its transmission methods.

So I can take a 7 week Negative as conclusive then?

(Sorry if this is annoying to anyone.  I know this might seem trivial in comparison to other threads on here.)

Hepatitis C is not a STD. It is a blood-borne virus. So unless you exchanged blood, the chances of transmission of HCV is extremely low. Also the symptoms describe are not symptoms of hepatitis C.

You may have contracted a STD, but not hepatitis C.

So you can relax and learn about safer sex.
