Hi Linda

Linda. You never know what life will bring so always be ready for the unexpected. So very sorry that you've now encountered breast cancer, but catching it early is key to survival. I know as I'm also a breast cancer survivor.
The good news is its treatable and curable. Thru the billions of research dollars dedicated for the cure, this disease is no longer misunderstood and feared as it was only a decade ago. Perhaps having Hep C may have in fact saved your life as we are more aware of our health and therefore more diligent when a sign or symptom seems out of the norm. Not to say its a good situation to have both, but maybe a blessing in disguise.
There is a wonderful community called "Inspire" which is similar to Medhelp but more geared to cancer related illnesses. They are a wonderful support group that is very knowledgable and progressive with the new Tx available.
They now have a cutting edge radiation Tx where you no longer have to endure 7 weeks of radiation. It's called Mammosite Therapy and with this Tx radiation is administered in less then a 2 week span with greater accuracy and less time. Should you go this route you may be able to pick up your Harvoni Tx sooner without to much delay.
Neither of these diseases are obviously wished for nor wanted. After having this dreaded virus for so long the repercussions on the plus side have caused you to become a strong individual with the ability to get thru any harsh realitys that life can bring. You will make it thru this added bump in the road with a good quality of life yet to be explored. Please know that we are all here to support you as you venture into unchartered waters. By chance, all of us converged onto Medhelp to find others faced with the uncertainties of liver disease. Everyone started this process together, and we will finish this with support and understanding as you are not alone.

The above responders have said all the things all of us want to.
I just want to add, you don't have to give us up. There is the hepc Social, to follow us and you. Also, you have so much knowledge to share, you can always come here to continue mentoring.
Both of the above, of course, are IF you feel up to it, and want to.
Please know that you are in my (our) prayers, and that, just because you are not in treatment for the hepc, that you are not in our hearts and thoughts as well as prayers.
Good luck, God Bless and may your surgery be correct, concise and complete, your follow-up treat exact and successful, and you, back on your Harvoni soon and very soon!!
Pat
Sending good thoughts your way ***Monday. God Bless.
Sending good thoughts and prayers .
Just another obstacle! You can do this girl

I developed breast cancer also, 2 yrs ago, while finishing up Ribaviron and Interferon. I, also, caught it early enough, but the chemo was hell on my liver. I had to quit the chemo after spending a week in the hospital, just about killed me. Then I relapsed anyways.
My gastro doctor would never say, but I think being on the nasty drugs brought my immunities down so low and that is why I got breast cancer. Its been 2 1/2 yrs now, cancer free and Harvoni is here.
Very sorry to hear that...I wish you the very best....
Millie
Just keep going. Never give up.
So sorry to hear the news Linda. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers everyday. Caught early is very treatable. Speaking from experience. Wishing you only the best friend
Blessings
Deb
I am very sorry that you have breast cancer. It sounds like you have discovered it early and most likely the surgery will take care of it.
Keep us posted.
Wishing you successful surgery on Monday and all of the best for the future.

Hi Linda,
So sorry to read of this development. I work with 2 women who have recently successfully fought this disease. Please keep us posted on how you are doing as we are all going through life together. There really are great new treatments for breast cancer, and hopefully you and your liver can get through that now, and return to the HepC Tx. I will keep you in my prayers.
Linda,
I am so sorry for your news but am glad that it was caught early. I hope you can get treated soon...for both the breast cancer and the hepatitis C.
