cost

I just got of the phone with Kaiser.  My gosh I'm about ready to pull my hair out, press 1 for this 2 for that, throw the phone across the room if you just want to talk to a live person and can't get there.  Anyways, the rep told me that ribavarin only comes in 200mg and a 3 months supply would cost me $10.00 co-pay.  The peg/interferon would be a 30.00 co-pay for a month. This was the pharmacy and member service that said that. Does this seem right?  I always thought tx was expensive like in the thousand of dollars.  I have Kaiser but I don't have the deluxe plan or anything just the basic.

Hi I have Kaiser and I paid about 14.00 a month for all my meds.  I think I have the deluxe plan.  So I think you are good to go. They only gave me a 1 month supply at a time.  My Dr. said because the meds are expensive and sometimes people quit. My refills came when I got my monthly labs done.
Best wishes for a successful treatment!

Oh I think mine was per month though not per three months. The doc would write the script for 3 months worth but they'd only give me one month at a time, so 40 a month.

Yes that sounds like what I paid for my copay when I treated.  All together my 72 weeks of treatment came close to $200,000. I figure I really made some heck of a salary that year if you include the health benefits!

Sweet deal. I'm sure there are many who would kill for a cost like that.

Enjoy it.

That's very good, I don't think you could expect much better then that.

Sorry I don't have Kaiser health insurance, maybe someone else here does, but those prices sound about right. Those are your "co-pay costs", the "actual cost" is thousands of dollars per month as you have heard. I had Blue Cross of California during treatment and my co-pay cost were similar to the prices you quoted.
