crying

Well, it seems I am a happy, compassionate person who now cries at........the news, kids crossing at a cross walk be cause its to damn cute, National Athem at a baseball game,  Besides for that, treatment of 9 days has been ok. I don't feel despressed, have no history of that, but not sure where this is going to go.
I did wonder if its a reaction to being so glad to have finally started treatment. What a relief it is.

  Anyone else experiece this?

Frijole,  you sounding like a trucker driving in traffic, too funny but I can almost hear ya, made me laugh.  My riba rage would creep in at the 4 way stop signs which drove me crazy when everyone was trying to get home during rush hour.  The riba always made me think that as long as I was driving a sports car I could always go first even if I was the last car there!  I think I left some tire rubber in those intersections.  :>/

I gotta agree these meds really put a spin on how we think and sometimes act.  My crying spells got better after the second month, somehow I managed to deal with emotions better after I realized it was the meds causing it.

Oh, I cry my husband can't say boo to me. Also, he tells me there are days that i'm just looking for an arguement. of course I disagree with him but I'm sure he is right. I try to bite my tongue. Then there are things that would bother me normally and I just blow off with a life is too short attitude.
It's just the drugs!

I didn't mean to imply with my second post that you should be seeking professional help and medication for a few crying spells.  I was just trying to show the emotional issues that have been well documented and can result from the meds.

I don't think being weepy indicates a need for anti-depressants.  It is just dirfferent, but not critical.  It really is the drugs.

It's the meds it's got nothing to do with hormones or gender. You want to cry ? Go to YouTube and search for Jazzy Hep c. Get a box of Kleenex first, poor kid.

Well said. Hypersensitivity is a good word for it.

I am crying right now...jk

But for real I can get teary eyed over the littlest things.
At least 2x a day. Not crying, but real deep feeling :)

Usually music.

Its not a sad or depressed type thing for me, more of a hyper sensitivity to emotions.

My doctor said it is the interferon that does it.

Ha ha  --- it does get funny, doesn't it.  That ribavirin really plays havoc with my emotions.  Usually pretty analytical and unemotional I become the new, kind caring person who crys at commercials with little puppies and children.  When I treated last time, Katrina hit, and I would boo-hoo all the way to work listening to the stories on the car radio.

Of course the other side is riba rage. So far, i have been good, but as time passes I sound like a trucker driving in traffic!  I have to bite my tongue to not snap at my husband.  Little things that I can usually let slide are building up -- the way he puts the dishes in the dishwasher, the way he pushes the newspaper section under the section I am reading and ithe paper pops up and down, ....  oh boy, it is totallly irrational

it is only the drugs.   it is only the drugs

"Patients commonly report emotional issues during their HCV treatment. These can include depression, mania, irritability, insomnia, difficulty concentrating and even some confusion. If any of these problems occur, discuss them with your doctor. It is important to rule out other causes for these complaints.

During treatment, many of the neuropsychiatric symptoms are caused by the HCV medications. Since these are chemically induced, sometimes the best way to counteract them is with medication. Willpower and determination, although fine attributes, are unlikely to alleviate the strong emotions that arise during HCV-therapy. Seek professional help for these symptoms. Although your medical provider may be able to help you, consulting with a psychiatrist or psycho-pharmacologist may be particularly valuable.

Keep in mind that, in time, you will return to your old self after you complete treatment."

i find that life has become more poignant these days, and i find myself crying at silly things. perhaps it comes from the realization of how temporary everything is.

I was just thinking about this today.  Yes, I've cried a few times in the last week.  Once writing a thank you letter to someone who has really lent me some great support during this and today I cried like 5 times during a trip to see The Lion King with my niece and nephew.  I am not usually like this, but I don't think it's the meds.  It was really touching to be with my little ones and see how much they love seeing me and knowing I want to be around for them.  Put a lot of stuff in perspective.  The fact that I'm now on the PEG shot which I was terrified of, is a true relief too.  So yeah, mostly happy crying.  I'm really not a big baby!

Yes, the news doesn't usually do it for me, although its often very depressing:)
During the first month there were certain things that triggered the emotions.  Sometimes just thoughts, memories, or certain songs would get me going, It still happens, but much less frequently now,   And of course, there's the other side - anger/rage that can rear it's ugly head from time to time.  Some things that never bother me, now get me very annoyed if in  a bad mode.

It is definitely the meds and hopefully will level out some for you.

I wonder what TX does to women's hormones?
Your description reminded me of how I reacted to a birth control pill that was too strong for me.  I can remember bawling my eyes out over a dumb episode of "The Love Boat" which tells you how long ago this was.  I also had some strange hormonal things right after both my children were delivered which made me oddly weepy.
Well, I may be way off but out of balance hormones is what came to my mind.
Whatever it is, I hope it levels out soon.
