So sick of not feeling well

I've been trying to fight bronchitis and now my asthma has become active. My hgb is 9.2 started Procrit last week. I lose my breath breath just walking from room to room. If I don't SVR this time I think I'm going to throw in the towel. What worries me is the first 2 weeks I had bronchitis I couldn't keep anything down, a couple tims I fouht to keep my meds down which  was really gross as you know VIC taste awful. I have to take my meds with 16oz of warm water and lay down with my head proped up!

Oh dear, that sounds awful! It is much better to start a new thread with your question rather than adding it on to the end of someone's older question. More people will see it as a "new question" and you'll get more help. Try to repost and add more information like how many weeks you've been on treatment, how many doses you've missed, what genotype virus you have, whether you have stats on your level of damage to your liver (biopsy results), and then more details about how you feel. If nausea is hitting hard have you been given Zofran for it? It's extremely effective for most patients – for me I went from throwing up before I took it all the way to feeling hungry and quite capable of eating 15 minutes later. See you soon in your own thread!

Yes it is nasty tasting stuff. I'm sure when I am done tx some of the things will be funny. I also hope to find things that I put in safe place and can't remember where the safe place is. :)

Soo glad to hear you got Procrit and pray it helps you through these difficult problems with bronchitis! :-(  If it makes ya feel any better..hehehe at the beginning of my treatment one of the VIC exploded in my throat when I sneezed or something....it was HORRIBLE!! lol  But now that it's over I can laugh about it...never tasted anything more horrible in my life!!

I actually have 3 inhalers Advir, Albuterol and Flo Vent.I developed in 2000 due to toxic mold. knew I would get sick this year because tx compromises the immune system, and the anemia can't help either. I am  still real short of breath. I think where we stared so close we have pretty much had all the sx at the same time. We are almost ther and lets hope we SVR together too. When I got sick I immediately thought of you having pneumonia.
Bean I am on my second antibiotic. I know what you mean about blaing the anemia.
Again I thank you all for the support you have sent my way.

I don't think we can underscore how bad we feel with the combo of anemia and upper respitory issues.  I have been thinking about you a lot since I read your post the other day.I am glad to hear you have had two 40,000 shots of procrit so far.    Did they give you any antibiotics?  In Feb when I had the pneumonia I really thought all my symptoms were from the anemia which was so bad back then.  It was not until I had a day or two of antibiotics in my system that I could sort out my symptoms from the anemia.   Don'tworry about the prednisone.  I know it is not the optimum thing to do during tx but in your case it was imperative to reduce the inflammation.  And don't worry about missing a few doses if you threw them up.  I know we are all trying so hard to be 100% compliant but sometimes it is not possible.

Hang in there -- and we have 16 not 18 weesk to go, don't we

I don't have anything to add, except keep a watch on your asthma.  Since you're taking Prednisone, I am assuming that is for the bronchitis and to ease the airway. Do you have two inhalers for your asthma, one to open the airway and one to reduce the inflammation?  Make sure you have refills on your inhalers, so you don't run out.
Hope you feel better soon.  It is a tough spring for allergies and asthma.

Asthma with tx is the worst, mine set in, this week, also. The anemia makes my throat and cough so dry, and I ended up in tears this morning. When the tears ran down my throat, they lubricated everything up, and I finally got a wet throat, and a good deep breath. Sometimes a good cry relieves stress, and actually makes me feel better. After all, this is a tough situation, but the Victrelis is showing great results, for cure.  That Victrelis is so bitter, I tend to eat a yogurt before popping, and then ameal, to try to completely coat the whole stomach, but I still tast it rising in my throat, and eating away at my old teeth ; /

Oh, rocky, I am so sorry.  During my first tx I had bronchitis so bad I thought I was going to die.  I would look in the mirror and saw see my mother who was sick with emphyzema for many many years.

And the taste of VIC.  Well, girl, it is getting harder and harder to gag down those 12 pills a day.  Especially the two doses the minute I get up and the last thing before bed.

I wish your friggin' doctors would get the picture with this roller coaster of hemoglobin.  You should be on 40,000 units every 5 days.  How much RIba are you taking -- still dose reduced on that I assume.

Only 18 to go!

Hi Moe: I'm thinking you'll soon feel a little better because of the Procrit. I can feel the difference between when my hemoglobin is going up instead of going down -- even if is just a little. Plus, now that you are on Procrit, your doctor can adjust the dosage to achieve the targeted hemoglobin level. I had bacterial bronchitis, which was treated with an antibiotic and codine cough syrup. My Procrit contributed a little to my nausea, but the Zofran controlled that. Cheers, GB

Thanks for the encouragement. I don't know what I would do without this forum, because because if you don 't have hep c people just can't even begin to know. I don't know what I would do without my husband he has been my rock thru this treatment!

Oh my, tx is hard enough without adding anything to the mix.
I can't help much other than to say, don't worry about it not working.
Look at Andiamo. He too did tx many times and the triple tx worked for him.

I hope you are have soothing music and lots of comedies to watch.
Try not to worry, keep your eye on the goal,

Wishing you the best~
