my wbc is not very low at all ..around 11..and maybe i exaggerated a little its really just a big *** pimple that wont go away... going to dr next week i will see what she thinks then
Hello, I agree with everyone else, you need to be seen, I had a boil and it grew until I could not sit down, I had to go to the emergency room where they had to operate as the infection was huge inside. There is also a product that can help draw the boil out however this is on your face, you need medical attention. Don't be like me and try to treat it yourself
Best wishes
Dee
I think doctors especially like to treat infections that are on the face, because they can spread so quickly if left untreated, or they can scar badly if people try to drain them at home. I had one on my face that I had checked out by the doctor, and it turned out to be impetigo and required oral antibiotics. In the meantime, until you can get in to see a doctor, hot compresses and an antibiotic ointment might help.

Yes, of course, you're right.
Agree. If the wbc or ANC level is very low, a minor infection can quickly become a major issue if ignored.
I agree with EyesofBlue55. You should get the boil looked at ASAP, even tonight. I don't know what your white count is, but these drugs mess up our ability to fight infections. You do not want the infection to get into the blood stream and become a systemic infection.
A Boil is just a boil is putting it lightly. It is an infected carbuncle of skin that is usually filled with infection.Someone I knew just got over having one on their backside. It was drained at the dr's office and sent to the pathology lab.Turns out it was a Staph infection. It was a serious matter that needed to be treated with rounds of antibiotics. If the contents gets into your bloodstream it can cause blood poisioning also.Get a Dr to look at it immediatly.
It might not be because of tx but is something you shouldnt ignore
Sometimes a boil, is just a boil.
Not every ailment is because of hep C, meds or anything other than life.
