Chronic Nausea?

Is nausea associated with  hepatitis C infection?, Iv'e had Intermittent nausea over the years, Iv'e probably have had this for over 30 years, My 2nd liver biopsy  (2 years ago) was an F1, As was my 1st biopsy (10 years ago), Iv'e opted to wait on treating this hoping for better options and better cure outcomes in the near future and my biopsy results have remained pretty mild, , My viral load is extremely high,  Lately Iv'e been experiencing very severe chronic nausea, My doctor just blows it off as part of the symptoms that goes with the territory?, This is effecting my work and social life, Is this a common symptom with everyone else (That Aren't treating)?  Just wondering if I should bite the bullet and treat?

I would feel nausea after eating oily food or drinks with hot milk etc. It got worse towards the end before treating and during treatment. Since I finished treatment it is gone. I also had mild IBS before treating. That went away about half ways into treatment. Now I can eat whatever I like and mix foods without feeling sick

I cannot tell you why and how, but this is my experience.

I had chronic nausea even before starting tx. My GI told me to take Pepsid OTC twice a day and it made life MUCH easier for me.

A lot of people don't have any symptoms, but for those of us who do, we might as well do whatever is possible to make life easier until cured.

I never had chronic nausea due to HCV.

SInce your biopsy was very recent and you're a stage one after some thirty years of the virus, maybe looking elsewhere for the source of the problem is the way to go.

Nausea has many causes and 2476 of them are listed here (not all chronic):

http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/symptoms/nausea/causes.htm

The site below says chronic nausea can affect 25% of the population, which surprised me:

I myself would look elsewhere before pinning it on HCV, since it's 'behaved' all this time and you remain a stage one after decades.

If you decide to treat the HCV, it would be best to resolve the nausea before starting, if possible.

Maybe try the MH gastroenterolgy forum as well. Here's the gastro expert link:

Best wishes,

Susan
