needle biopsy

Hello everyone,
I m about to schedule an appointment for liver needle biopsy. My question is about the physical restrictions after the procedure. I have booked a 4 day cruise on the 3rd day after the biopsy, and I am not sure if I need to postpone the biopsy. I m afraid to be at sea if something will go wrong. I m young and dont have any other health problems.
Thank you

I'm pretty sure that if anything were wrong you would know within 24 hrs after the biopsy.  After mine, I was sent back to work and told not to lift anything the same day.  I went home and lazed around simply because I'd taken the day off already.  No after effects at all, just a red dot under a bandaid.

I think leaving for a cruise would take your mind off of waiting for the results.

After my biopsy, I was told to rest as much as possible for the next week. No strenuous activities for 2 weeks, no lifting over 5 lbs.

Definately schedule the biopsy after your cruise...

I would also postpone the biopsy until after the cruise.

Chances are you'll feel fine as soon as the sedation wear off but why take the risk?
Change your dates if you can.

I'd avoid any possible risk and move the biopsy date.  You wouldn't want to have the margaritas leaking out of the hole.

After my biopsy everything was fine. you will know brfore you leave if it went well. the only worry is bleeding of liver but they will know right away if that happens. its 99% safe. ask your doc. but I would go on the cruise. good luck and gog bless.

a person is usually back to normal after a few days. As long as you don't do any heavy lifting or other strenuous activity I see no reason why you shouldn't go on that cruise. Good luck with the biopsy and have fun on the cruise.
