Another healthcare hepper here that got stuck too...I was wondering if you've had your vitamin D and ionized calcium levels checked? During and after treatment, I had thyroid issues which influenced my vit D levels, and thus calcium absorption. My joints ached unbelievably -but more so in my hips and back...Once it was corrected, no more pain...it wouldn't hurt to get checked...:) ~MM
Hip pain before treatment and after but not during. As I am only post-EOT 3 weeks, will wait for a while to see how my joints etc settle down.
I had a lot of hip pain and stiffness prior to tx. It was due to scarring secondary to radiation treatments in the pelvic reigon. Once I began tx for Hep C the pain and stiffness cleared up. Almost 9 months post-treatment I still do not have that pain.
I have hip pain in both hips with my right being worst. I have never done Tx because it was never offered. My chiropractor said the pain is coming for the ends of my long bones and not from the joints themselves. I see a Heptologist Next Wednesday so I hope I am on the road to relief. My vl is 15,300,000.
I broke my right hip in high school and it has been bothering me more and more the further I get into tx. I think at first it was from all the time I was spending on the couch, but even though I have been increasing my excercise, it has not resolved.
It doesn't affect my ability to walk, but it is pretty uncomfortable sitting still.
thanks...i did do treatment 7 yrs ago for 18 months and was considered then a non responder and had moderate cirhossis. Got such bad anemia from the rib that after 6 months it was stopped.
i recieved a transplant in sept 08 and have been doing better each day except the hip, it doesnt get better.
an orthopod and endrocronologist are my next appts
I would wonder if it's related to the HCV. I assume you've had it checked out by an orthopedist. Could he or she find anything? There are lots of causes for hip pain. You're right that you're relatively young but people of all ages have hip problems. In my case, I know that sudden weight loss while undergoing treatment led to some neurological problems.
no ,but Ive had some well pronounced hip pain since treatment ,w peg and riba .I think Its somthing to do w blood cells in the hip area ? could be wrong . good luck
