Thanks for posting your results. You are proof that not everyone who tests positive for Hepatitis C antibodies has Hepatitis C. I'm so glad you are one of those lucky people without a viral load.
Best to you

Hello everybody!! The doctor called me back today with the blood results. She told me it came back the viral load is not present in my system. Thank you everybody for the advice and answers to questions. I really appreciate it. This forum is so helpful. Thank you again!!
WR, 1.9 units of what, do you remember? Your hepatologist, seeing as you have no idea when, or even if, you came in contact with the HCV, could have ordered a simple anitbody test. If you have been exposed, and a few weeks have passed, you body's immune system will have begun trying to eradicate it by forming antibodies. That and a "HCV RNA by Quantitation" , or sometimes worded :"HCV Quantitation by PCR or TMA" blood test. Fancy names for a viral load count, that is how many copies of the virus are in your blood. If you have been exposed, the majority of folks experience an acute phase of the infection, resembling a very bad flu, jaundice, lethargy, etc... As "dontworry" said, wait until the results are back. If you were destined to get the HCV, you picked the right time. There are new treatments out/coming out that will totally eradicate this disease in the next 10 years. A lot better than us who have had it so long they did not even call it Hep C, simply "Non-A, Non-B Hepatitis". That was almost 30 years go though. Good Luck, mac790
Welcome to the forum. Wait till the test comes back to see if you have a viral load. If you don't have a viral load you don't have hepatitis C. Many people don't know how they. got hepatitis C. Come back and let us know the results of the test. Some people so test positive for hepatitis C (25%) and clear the virus on their own. If this is the cause you will test positive for the rest of your life....but you do not have hep C. Keep your fingers crossed and let us know the results.
Best to you
