syringe tutorial needed

Hello - thank you to all who post and respond to posts.  I have found the answers very helpful but could not find anything to address this.  My husband and I both started treatment two weeks ago.  I am on triple therapy for genome 1a and he is on peg/riba for genome 2b.

We both attended classes before treatment but they really didn't go over this and no directions ome with the actual equipment - just drug info.  I feel stupid asking this but we are both struggling with the prefilled syringes - putting the needle on and taking off the cover.  I am afraid that I will lose the medicine by plunging it by accident or breaking the glass syringe.

I am also quite clumsy and last time I stabbed myself on the top of my finger which also freaked me out - keystone cops around here!  Anyway, I am not having an issue stabbing myself with a needle.  Sadly I have quite a hefty roll of fat to put it in and it does not hurt. (I know I know, weight loss would be great for treatment - working on it)

Is there a video out there?  Or written directions?  Or just some advice?  Thank you

Go to the Pegasys website at http://www.pegasys.com/patient/about-chronic-hepc/what/index.html

Then click on Prescribing Information on the top right hand corner.  Then scroll down to pg 53.  If you're using Pegasys, they should have provided a video as Mo stated, and they used to have this on their website.

I just did shot 13 and I still struggle with this! I like the advice  that was given.
There is a vidio on the drug website, when I went in for my intro to starting tx they gave me a vidio. I would have your nurse go over it again with you just to be sure.  Good luck.

I gently wiggle the cap on the syringe backand forth until it releases, then remove it.  I used to pull it off with some force and it alway felt clutzy thinking I'd jab myself for sure.  Don't worry, we all go through this.

I pull the cap off the needle before putting on the syringe after almost stabbing myself as well.
