General symptoms of herpes a week or two before genital?

17 days ago, I performed unprotected oral sex on a woman, who I didn't know at the time. There might have been very brief unprotected contact with my genitals and her mouth and genitals, but I'm talking very brief. I wrapped up as soon as I got hard. The very next day, I got pretty sick and threw up all night, probably had a fever too. I had an inflamed throat from then for about a week, though all other symptoms went away after 2 or 3 days. Worried about an std, I went to the doctor, told her what I did, and got a throat culture(day 4), which came back negative. I still had a sore throat when the result came back, and at this time, 7 days after, I noticed what I assume to be a lymph node right at the base of my penis had begun to swell. It got about as big as a bean, and there were no other genital symptoms- no ulcers or blisters or anything. My nuts itched a little, but not excessively it abnormally- they've always done that when I wear pants. There was no pain on my genitals. About a week after the node swole up, it went down- almost gone now. Then this evening (day 17), I noticed a red spot on the underside of my penis right after I masterbated. Now my circumcision scar was red too, and some of the skin in a line through the spot, but this one stood out. It is a part of my penis though that in the past I believe I've noticed as having a little extra skin or little bump things that you can't see unless you look hard and they've been there from before any contact. I kinda freaked out and picked at the area and squeezed it, and a clear liquid (small amount) came out of the skin. It is completely painless and there was no itching or pain on my shaft ever.

Taken together, these symptoms sound like herpes, but they all happened a week apart. My question is- did I contract herpes and my symptoms are strange or is this just a string of coincidences? I'd like to restate the bacterial culture was negative for all bacteria. I am going to try to go to the clinic for tests this Friday at the 3 week mark too.

Sorry for the novel, but this has been both strange and frightening for me. I am aware that only tests can diagnose, but for my peace of mind this week, can anyone with medical experience explain what's been going on with me?

Thanks

I was going to get one this week then 3 months to confirm. It's painful if I poke it (dumb I know) but not when I squeeze around it. Would herpes show up after 17 days? I've seen some sources like the cdc saying if it happens, it would be within 2 weeks, somewhere else I've seen the 30 day figure.

I know I'm being obnoxious, just scared. No more hookups for me, even if I use protection again

im saying that the next day you got sick with a fever so it would appear your node is connected. Have a test at 8 weeks as an indicator if your concerned.

If your in a cold state, maybe fighting the flu as you mention you had a fever the next day. Would seem connected to that as herpes would be a min of 3 days and 5 as the average.

Thanks for your response. Any idea about the lymph node? It's basically gone now

An irritation from masturbating because everything you describe that happened is not real risk to contract herpes. Glancing contact is not a herpes risk.

What could the red bump be? It's a little swollen up this morning but doesn't look like any blister I've ever had

Hi, the odds you contracted herpes from what you describe would be close to zero. No std symptoms show up the next day. Takes way more than simple touching to contract it, needs to be hard rubbing to force the virus into the nerve.
Giving a women oral if little risk as uses the tongue which contains digestive enzimes. She would be more at any risk than you.
