Afraid to touch penis

I have herpes. My problem is I'm deathly afraid to pee because  I know I have to touch my penis and I'm afraid by doing that I'm going to have to touch my zipper and belt and spread herpes to my belt and zipper and then everything that comes in contact with my belt and zipper like my seat belt. Then I wash my hands for 10-20 minutes to make sure the herpes is off my hands.. If on accident I touch day my shirt before I can was my hands ill either rub the spot with hand sanitizer or change clothes. I feel like I'm spreading my herpes to everything!!

Wow-- you really need some basic education about genital herpes!

Herpes is never spread in this way. Once you have had herpes for more than a few months, you cannot spread it to another part of your body; and nobody ever spreads it to people by shaking hands or other non-intimate contact, and they never spread it by sharing bathrooms, kitchens, towels, eating utensils etc. You will never infect another person with your genital herpes except by having sex with them.

So as I said to start, get some basic education. Some excellent sources are the American Sexual Health Association (www.ashasexualhealth.org), CDC (www.cdc.gov/std), and Portland Oregon's Westover Heights Clinic (www.westoverheights.org). And Westover also has an excellent handbook on living with herpes, which you can download for free from the website.

Bottom line:  Mellow out and stop worrying about this!

Hi, I am not a doctor but from what I know, herpes virus cannot live long on a non-living organism so your belt , zipper and other things are fine . Just keep washing your hands whenever you use the bathroom. I hope this helps.
