Atypical Herpes symptoms

Hi everyone

Sorry for the long post.

So I had a high risk encounter 18 weeks ago. Unprotected oral and Vaginal sex. Worst mistake of my life.
3 weeks after I developed Urethritis with a slight amount of discharge with a funky smell. Only had some stinging after urinating. Went through about 3 months of crazy anxiety, depression and stress about this. Was really suicidal.
Did tests for all stds at 6 weeks post exposure including HSV Igg specific. Positive for HSV 1(figures as i was exposed as a kid) Neg HSV 2.
Urologist gave met 1 dose Azithro plus a weeks of doxy and Methradinazole. About 6 days into the course started getting lower back pain. Also got full body muscle twitches.
Forward to 15 weeks I tested again, Pos HSV1 neg HSV2 on Igg. Pain in my neck down my back into both hips and both legs including thighs, hamstrings calves and shins. I have been to various doctors, urologists and neurologists. They can’t find anything “wrong”. Sent to a psychiatrist. He gave me meds for depression and anxiety. The twitches have become less after 3 weeks of the meds but the pain remains. I also get random burning spots on my legs and itching all over including my groin area.
I am so afraid of passing this on. I don’t live in the states but plan on travelling to the US to have the WB done. Have spoken to Terri and she says it sounds nothing like Herpes. But I have searched all the H forums and it seems like a lot of people have these symptoms.
I pray this is all in my head. Just don’t know what to do anymore. This stupid mistake will cost me everything..

I agree with Terri - sounds nothing like herpes.

However, I had covid and had a lot of those symptoms. I don't know why no one ever thinks of that, but no one ever does.

Also, I'm glad to hear you got help for your mental health, but please also talk to a therapist. That you were suicidal over a possible STD indicates a real need for it.
