Bad waxing or herpes?

Hi, I just recently waxed my "privates" and i waxed over the same area a few times because the hair seemed to break and not all come out. My friend (an esthetician) told me to exfoliate. So I exfoliated with a paprika/glycolic facial exfoliant? I realize this was probably stupid as it made the area VERY ITCHY, RED and IRRITATED. i then tried to come the inflammation by applying a facial moisturizer (which only caused MORE itching!). i was a little concerned because i had heard horror waxing stories before becoming infections. I went to my doctor, told her what i'd done and she told me that it could be just irritated like folliculitis or it kind of looks like herpes? But she did not test me and gave me a fucidin cream to apply to the area. she also, however, gave me a prescription for valtrex, she said, in case it did not get better?  since the day i went IN to the doctors (only about 3 days after the wax) it already didn't itch anymore, it already appeared to be getting better.  this is what confuses me the most! i have been applying the fucidin twice a day as prescribed and am holding off on the meds for herpes. it is already clearing up, it seems although still a little present with a little pus inside each one? also, not a big area! please let me know if this sounds like herpes?  i do not feel ill, have a fever, have any other aches, and do not experience any pain while peeing. I would also like to add that i have not had sex with anyone other than my partner who i know did not sleep with anyone else. and did not experience an outbreak ever?!! Sorry if it's too much info but i'm so confused! How long and/or severe would a herpes outbreak be? And would it get better with a fucidin cream?

it seemed to have disappeared with the cream called fucidin after a few days. would this mean it is not herpes for sure?

just wondering that if it WERE herpes how long would it take to disappear? Since it is already starting to go away?

If this happened without the waxing disater, I'd say sounds like herpes.  Since you had the waxing, and re-waxing, and some exfoliating, and some cream, I'd go with that.

In a few months, you can get a type specific IgG blood test, but at this point, the timing points to the waxing.
