Okay so first, you've gotten great info about the testing. The IgM test is terrible - don't take that.
I have NO idea why no one cultured these spots if they thought it herpes. A simple swab test would have done it.
In any case, no, an antifungal medication would not have healed the sores that fast if it was herpes. Nothing gets rid of cold sores that fast. Nothing - not even antiviral medication.
I mean, at this point, for all we know, you bit the inside of your lip and you have a lot of anxiety causing your symptoms.
67% of the population under 50 globally has oral hsv1. It goes up to 80% if you include the older people. Your parents, your aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. - at least some of them have it. Many of your friends do, too.
If you've kissed someone before, there's a good chance that they had it. Most people who have it never get symptoms.
I can't tell you what this is, but I'd bet it's not herpes and just a lot of anxiety.
Actually your statistics are wrong. An estimated EIGHTY percent (80 %) of the population has oral herpes. It's cold sores, man. I don't want to minimize your feelings but it is not a big deal. Babies have it. These do not look like pimples. And tingling, etc. is unreliable especially when someone suffers anxiety. Or guilt. Or any other strong emotion. I agree that you may be overthinking it. You can get swabbed to see if it is hsv 1 and you have joined the 80 percent of people on this planet that has it.
