Red bump, base of penis

I found a red bump at the base of my penis the other day, it did not hurt to the touch, but i used tweezers to pop it, all that came out was blood and nothing out. My girlfriend has recently given me oral sex and has a history of cold sores. I'm hoping that im just freaking out but i can't help but thinking that it is herpes. It has been two days since i noticed the bump and nothing seems changed, it did however appear to heal overnight after i popped it.

another update for today, it seems like it's nearly gone now, barely even noticeable. It didn't pop and there was no scabbing, good or bad?

I also forgot to mention, that I have a pretty large cold sore on my lip and have been having a rather sore mouth / throat lately...

Could this be caused from the cold sore?

Yes, it is. It's indicative that the hair follicle was the issue.

I also noticed that a hair seems to be coming out of the bump, so that's a good thing right?

This doesn't sound like herpes, more so just a pimple if it healed overnight.

Have either you or your girlfriend been tested to know your herpes status? Then you can make educated decisions and not worry about STDs should you be negative.
