Hi. My apologies if I forgot to mention that I am male.
Well, no one commented here but I did talk to a specialist and he said that in addition to causing small cuts on your backside it can also irritate and aggravate present lesions as well. Just as I had unfortunately suspected. Shouldn't someone have know this on the forum?
you had already asked this on Terri's forum which is why it wasn't replied to by me if that was your real question.
I don't recall asking a question about irritating and aggravating present unrelated sores on Terri's forum. Believe it or not I am trying to keep my questions separate.
I have a new small painful lesion on my rectum. Hopefully it will be visible tomorrow when I see my PCP. Is that something that he can swab for analysis?
Update - I went to PCP today and thankfully I was red and inflammed. He made a rough drawing of it for his notes and took another painful swab. They also took more blood to test. I imagine I will have results in about a week. I went over the doctors notes from the very first visit and the PA described it as a "blister." So we can all rest easy and say that I had a blister. Thanks to all who have been supportive. I will let you know if I hear anything.
Well, I took a shower earlier and my urethra and meatus got lit up like no one's business. It has been almost 2 months now. I took pictures to show the docs but they really didn't highlight just how red and unhappy it was. I am still taking 1-2 valtrex daily. I am wearing clothes now but its so so sensitive I can hardly walk. This is a daily occurence. Any ideas on what I can do or who I should see?
Also should mention that my lower back has been real sore the past few days and both my legs feel really strange. Like the nerves are constantly activated. It feels strange when I walk.
How long have you had the irritation and redness?
I think I know how my infection spread around my urethra. I had a cystoscopy when the infection was just a blister on one side of the urethra. I think the virus got spread around the urethra when the scope went in and wormed its way down to my prostate. It wasn't until after the scope that the entire urethra and meatus got inflamed. My genital looks like a war zone right now.
I also think that that explains why I also have a distinct red "stripe" that runs down the top of my glans from the urethra. I bet the penis was held in place on the sides so he could manouever the scope and that's why there is never any redness there, they were protected from the spreading. I am going to call my urologist Monday and discuss.
Texas, did you ever get your results in or figure this thing out? I have the same thing as you and it is driving me crazy.....if anyone knows what happened to texas please post.
