Can having positive EBV in the past give me false positive HSV2 results?

I am 22 female, In December 2017 my throat had swollen shut and doctors couldn’t figure out why, for 3 weeks straight taking me off antibiotics putting me back on etc. ran multiple tests on me to find that my mono titers have came back positive in the past, got wrongly diagnosed with mono later to find out I had tonsillitis for 4 weeks. Fast forward I slept with a guy in febuary that i was dating and claimed he was clean took blood tests and all, things didn’t work out so we cut ties. In March had my tonsils out & fastfoward to the end of April i had a really strange throat pain right where my throat had torn open during healing for tonsillectomy. My doctor proscribed Clindamycin && then 1 week later I had a vaginal rash (peeling skin and burning only on the vaginal lips) no bumps no leasions no discharge. 2 doctors said it was a allergic reaction to a medicine I was taking (one of the side effects of this medicine was peeling burning vaginal lips) they prescribed a cream and it cleared right up. While they were looking they ran tests for STDs which i thought had to be negative since I haven’t had sex since febuary. Turns out I had chlamydia...(I asked the guy to get tested and his results were negative && before I hooked up with him I was all STDs negative).  I took meds and got cured for that the doctor suggested i get tested for HIV and syphaliss just to ensure I don’t have them & said don’t worry about herpes what I saw is not herpes. I go to the 2nd doctor she takes a look and comfirms not herpes but because I’m requesting to be tested for everything she did just that. 3 days later I was clean of all STDs Except HSV2 my test results were HSV1 negative .02 and HSV 2 positive 8.0 (IgG antibodie testing) could I possibly have gotten a false positive because of EBV or because of my premature ovarian failure, reoccurring UTI or because of any other medications or conditions i have? any hope for a false positive? I’ve never had an outbreak no bumps no lumps no abnormal discharge no orders no itching no burning.
(Still waiting to hear back from the guy in febuary to hear about his blood test he said he would get tested right away but he’s positive he’s clean and I’m the last person he has slept with since febuary aswell and hasn’t had any signs symptoms outbreaks or anything)

I was preface this with I am not a doctor. It is my understanding that EBV or any other condition will not interfere with an IgG test. The test looks for a specific antibody and while a positive HSV1 score can influence an HSV2 score, EBV or ovarian issues would not.
IgG testing isn’t foolproof but for HSV2, it’s accuracy is excellent.
I agree that the clindamyacin probably caused your irritation since it’s an antibiotic.
The index number is high, meaning the test was confident it found HSV2 antibodies, but really anything is possible. Hsv testing isn’t a perfect science. This could be a false positive and for your own piece of mind, confirmation testing with an HSV Western Blot is the way to go. Good luck!

So my doctor finally contacted me & told me “all your std test results came back negative” and I said woah wait what no on my chart lab tests online it said I’m positive for “hsv2” and she said “yes you have had the infection in the past but no current infection your clear from all std’s” and I said but once it’s in your system it stays in your system forever and she replied yes but you’ve never had an outbreak before so your all good it’s nothing to worry about your tests are all negative..... should I get a second opinion ?
Your doctor is an absolute idiot. I don’t think you need a second opinion, you need a new doctor. I think about HSV is some people never have symptoms. They’re lucky enough to be asymptomatic. That doesn’t mean that the virus can’t be transmitted. That doesn’t mean that your body doesn’t shut the virus. It just means that you have no recognizable symptoms. That’s a good thing. Be thankful that you don’t have symptoms. But now that you know your status you need to do what you can to protect your partner or any future partner.
Just because you don’t have symptoms, doesn’t mean that it’s not a contagious virus. Since you don’t have symptoms you probably won’t shed as frequently as someone who does have symptoms. But you still well. Maybe not frequently but there still a chance. Your doctor truly has no idea what she’s talking about. Hsv doesn’t go away. Unfortunately there isn’t a cure yet. Direct her to the ASHA website.
I can’t believe the people they let graduate from medical school.
My apologies for all the spelling errors!
