Incubation period for HSV1

what is the period from when you first get infected with HSV1 till your first cold sore appears? is it days/weeks/months?

If so what is the time interval? when can you be sure it wasn't related to an incident?

If I got a bump 20 days after risk, can I rule out HSV1/cold sore?

Pretty much always 2-14 days post infection. Anything later then yes huge question as to whether it is a herpes infection at all or related to the episode.
